1) H Street: PoPville reports that Falafel Maestro will open a location in the Philadelphia Water Ice building at 1204 H Street, NE. Signage is already up at the location. [PLYWOOD]
2) Dupont Circle: Also from PoPville, New York-based Sophie's Cuban Cuisine is opening up a DC location at 1134 19th Street, NW (warning; their website blasts festive music if you open it). No opening date yet for the restaurant. [PLYWOOD]
3) Capitol Hill: Art & Soul closes today until Feb. 18 for an extensive renovation of the restaurant. New wood floors, a new color scheme and new artwork are all part of the plan. [POST-PLYWOOD]
4) Northwest DC: Mike Neibauer chronicles building permits for a Corner Bakery at 500 North Capitol St. NW and a Subway at 1010 Massachusetts Ave. NW. [PLYWOOD]
