The Mandarin Oriental has a new executive chef in Didier Pouzier. His job will be to oversee culinary operations for Sou'Wester, the more casual restaurant at the hotel, as well as the Empress Lounge and the facility's catering and banquets operation.
Longtime chef Eric Ziebold remains in charge of CityZen, the hotel's four star destination restaurant. Pouzier comes to the hotel from the Miami location of the Mandarin, where he had four restaurants to oversee. The France native has worked for more than two decades in the industry, in such countries as France, Italy and Greece. He has a pastry background as well.
The chef replaces Anupam Banerjee, who left the company to take a position in the Middle East, according to a spokeswoman.
