Energy Kitchen, Panera, Mari Vanna's Bar All Open

1) Downtown: The first D.C. location of healthy restaurant chain Energy Kitchen has opened downtown. The restaurant, from VitaminWater co-founder Mike Repole, specializes in dishes that are baked, steamed and never fried. Everything on the menu is under 500 calories, and it's a big favorite among celebs in other cities. A grand opening is planned for Jan. 16. Status: Softly open. 1901 L St. NW; website.

2) Dupont: The bar of Mari Vanna, the highly anticipated Russian restaurant with locations in New York and abroad, has opened ahead of the full restaurant's grand opening Jan. 17, the GoG blog reports. The bar is located on the lower level of the three-story restaurant and opens at 4 p.m. Status: Certified open. 1141 Connecticut Ave. NW; website.

3) Penn Quarter: In the mood for a soup and a half sandwich for lunch today? You can swing by the Panera in Penn Quarter, which has opened for business. PoPville has a few photos. Status: Certified open. 675 H St. NW; website.

4) H STREET NE: Hikari Sushi and Sake Bar, which was expected to open sometime this week, opened last night. Thrillist goes inside and has photos of the interior and some of the dishes. Status: Certified open 644 H St. NE; website.
