Beachy sandwich shop Jetties will have the grand opening of its fourth location next Wednesday, at 1921 I St. NW. Eater caught up with owner Bo Blair, who also owns such restaurants as Surfside and Bayou, to learn what's planned for the latest incarnation of the restaurant.

The sandwich shop will host a number of giveaways for its grand opening, and plans to do buy-one-get-one-free deals on salads and sandwich throughout the rest of the month. Those who have been to another Jetties location should know what to expect - similar decor, same menu. The biggest change will be the downtown Jetties' emphasis on catering. They've got a new van, and a new director of catering that will help them reach out to surrounding businesses, Blair said.

And there are plenty of surrounding offices at the latest location. "We like it because it's close to GW [University] and the IMF building, but it's also in the middle of downtown and has good outdoor seating," he said. The restaurant will occupy about 1,500 square feet.

Should DC expect another Jetties once this one gets up and running? Blair wouldn't rule it out ("We're always looking," he says) but there's another item higher on the priority list. He'd like to find the perfect location to open up a second Surfside restaurant.
