New Brunch at Morrison House; Founding Farmers' Gin

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

ALEXANDRIA— Cool equipment alert — The Grille at Morrison House now has a duck press. The press helps the cook express juices from the duck to make a decadent sauce for the duck breast served at brunch. The brunch in general is a buffet, with other options like crepes, petit fours and beignets - it's $38 per person. [EaterWire]

FOGGY BOTTOMFounding Farmers will soon have its own gin. Young & Hungry reports it's a collaboration between Farmers Beverage Director Jon Arroyo and Copper Fox's Rick Wasmund. The restaurant has previously made its own whiskey as well. [WCP]

BLOOMINGDALE— Speaking of restaurants and special booze, looks like Boundary Stone is on that path. "Our baby has arrived! Boundary Stone Hand Select now available at the Stone!" the bar says on Facebook. It's a collaboration with Woodford Reserve. [Facebook]

VIRGINIA— The NoVa Brewfest is scheduled for Oct. 19-20 in Bull Run Regional Park. Over two days there will be more than 40 breweries, live music, food and more. Tickets are $20 online. [EaterWire]
