Big Chair Cafe Has Closed

Anacostia's lone sit-down coffee shop, Big Chair Cafe, has called it quits. From the restaurant's Facebook page: "Big Chair Café is closed for business. I am now a partner at Mama's BBQ, Blues & Pizza (2028 MLK Ave SE)! Just one block down from Big Chair Café."

That "I" is manager Michael Sterling, according to Capital Business, which first picked up on the closure; he's moving on to run a nearby restaurant. The closure was the result of a dispute between the manager and owner, the landlord told Capital Business; the hope is that it could eventually reopen.
