It's finally (almost) a reality. Tom Sietsema reports today that former Town House chef John Shields is close to inking a deal to open up a restaurant in Georgetown.
The chef, along with his wife, pastry chef Karen Urie Shields, hopes to sign a lease Monday for a townhouse at 1050 Potomac St. NW. He tells Sietsema the restaurant will be vegetable focused, have "lots of ingredients from the ocean" and offer a tasting menu. There's an outdoor patio and carriage house on site where diners can take the a la carte route. Don't expect an opening, though for 9-11 months.
