Is Fat Shorty's calling it quits in Clarendon? It appears likely. According to a Groupon message forwarded to Eater, the Arlington sausage-focused restaurant is shutting its doors by the end of the month. The message reads: "We have some bad news: Fatshorty's will be closing on October 27. We know—we're disappointed too. Since you may not have had the opportunity to redeem your Groupon yet, we wanted to give you a heads-up so you can use it before the business closes."
Eater has reached out to the restaurant's owner for any additional details on the closure, and will update this post with any response. Fat Shorty's opened in April, replacing the salad restaurant Rabbit (both are owned by entrepreneur Aaron Gordon). It specialized in unique sausages like alligator whipped up by chef Rock Harper of "Hell's Kitchen" fame.
Update: Owner Aaron Gordon tells Eater, "We are finalizing a sale of the space and closing the restaurant next week. Unfortunately, we simply did not do well enough."
