GLOVER PARK— Sprig & Sprout is starting brunch service on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. They'll be serving dishes like Bo Kho, a beef stew, and Banh Cuon (steamed rice crepes), as well as some classic dishes with a Vietnamese twist (think taro and potato home fries). Brunch will start October 26, and early guest will get a free mimosa or Bloody Mary with purchase. [EaterWire]
FALLS CHURCH— Drop into Falls Church's Open Kitchen Bistro tonight, and 50 percent of the sales will go towards The Ark of Taste, a program through Slow Food DC. The charity effort is part of the restaurant's annual anniversary celebration - there will be prizes tonight, too. [EaterWire]
U STREET— Don Rockwell's forum is hosting a chat this week with Nizam Ali, co-owner of Ben's Chili Bowl. The chat delves into his background a bit, and provides a little more intel on what the owner hopes to accomplish with the new incarnations of the restaurant. [DR]
