Muze to Replace Sou'Wester at the Mandarin Oriental

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

The Mandarin Oriental is getting a new restaurant to match the Asian flair of the hotel. Muze will open where Sou'Wester is currently located within the waterfront-based property. The restaurant will launch Dec. 2, according to a press release, and will be open all day. Executive Chef Didier Pouzier and new Chef de Cuisine Mark McDonnell will be responsible for the menu.

Initial menu items will include a confit lamb shoulder with soy-roasted sunchokes, black bean veal cheeks, ahi tuna crudo, rockfish with miso cauliflower and dill juice and more. The restaurant will emphasize cocktails and wine, too. No changes are planned to the hotel's other restaurant, the iconic CityZen. Update: Here are the menus.

McDonnell came to the hotel in mid-September from Rogue 24. His resume also includes stints at Vue de Monde Restaurant in Australia, L'Ecrivain Restaurant in Ireland and Tom Aikens Restaurant in London.
