Maple to Expand; Leek May Be Closed for Good

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS— PoPville had the first word that Maple has plans to expand. Eater followed up to learn more: according to owners Eric Gronning and Lori Robertson, their plans to move into the now-closed Columbia Heights Coffee space will mean more room for the restaurant. They'll double their indoor seating capacity, add a private events space and start taking reservations once there is more room. The restaurant is also planning a outdoor patio in the back, and a kitchen renovation. Expect an opening by spring. [PoP, EaterWire]

ARLINGTON— Maybe those renovations weren't actually renovations? Leek American Bistro hasn't reopened for business, despite saying they were going to last week. ARLNOW says the place appears to be closed. [ARLNOW]

ARLINGTON— The Arlington location of RedRocks is planning to host a craft beer series on Thursdays, beginning Nov. 21. They'll host brewers from 5:30-8:30 p.m. who will pour beer and tell their stories. Reps from Port City Brewing, Anchor Brewing and Flying Dog Brewing are scheduled to appear. [EaterWire]
