Bonefish Grill to Arlington; Beverly Bates Now at Ris

CRYSTAL CITY— Just following the opening of Bonefish Grill at Potomac Mills comes the news that the restaurant is headed to Arlington. Landlord Federal Realty says the seafood chain will find a home at Pentagon Row next year (the plaza is also getting a general refresh). [EaterWire]

FOGGY BOTTOM— Longtime area pastry chef Beverly Bates has a new home base. She's now going to be handling desserts at Ris. The recent Rammy Award winner will also do work for the Union Market outpost of Ris. She recently cooked at Jeff Buben's restaurants. [EaterWire]

PENN QUARTERDaikaya formally announced the promotion of Lukas Smith to beverage manager today; within the release, there's a bit of cocktail news about the Japanese restaurant. Daikaya will be offering a hot version of all of its whiskey-based drinks on the menu during the colder months. [EaterWire]
