What: It's a weekend affair of oyster eating, wine drinking and culinary contests at this annual, exclusive event. More information here.
2) Beaujolais and Beyond
When: Saturday, 8-11 p.m.
Where: French Embassy

What: This bash celebrates the release of Beaujolais Noveau with bread, cheese, pastries, wine, music and an auction. The event has a Roaring 20s theme to it. Tickets are here.
3) Panda Cocktails at the Marriott
When: This weekend through Dec. 31
Where: Marriott Wardman Park

What: The hotel near the zoo has created five different craft cocktails in honor of the five names the public is choosing between for the Zoo's baby panda. Guests can "vote" with their drink order, and $1 from each cocktail will go to Friends of the National Zoo. It's not a bad nightcap idea for those visiting ZooLights, beginning Nov. 29.
4) Ris at Union Market
When: This weekend through month's end
Where: Union Market
1309 5th St NE, Washington, DC
What: It's opening weekend for Ris's pop-up event at Union Market. The restaurant will offer a "Sides & Pies" menu, with holiday dishes available for pick-up. Offerings include ingredients like Champagne vinaigrette and full dishes like cranberry orange bread. There will be Thanksgiving sides added to the mix next week.
5)H Street Movemberfest
When: Saturday at 1 p.m.
Where: H Street corridor
What: Live entertainment, food and drink discounts, family activities and more are all on the docket for the second annual event. Tickets are $12 in advance.
