Baltimore-based Zeke's Coffee has opened its first D.C.-area location (christened its DC Roastery and Coffee Lab). It's run by John Kepner, and located at 2300 Rhode Island Ave. NE in Woodridge. The space works as the company's local roasting facility (they roast in 10 pound batches) as well as a retail location with samples available for customers to try. A few of the coffee varieties are available "on tap," and there's a pour-over bar as well. It's the first sit-down coffee shop for that neighborhood.
