Pizzapass is Coming; Alison Reed is Leaving Town

BETHESDA— Bethesda's Jiffy Shoppes has closed, and Bethesda Magazine has an update on what's replacing it. The concept sounds interesting: Pizzapass owner John Foster likens his restaurant to a Brazillian steakhouse — except with pizza, of course. It'll open in mid-December. [BM]

CLEVELAND PARK— Pastry chef Alison Reed is leaving Ripple, according to Young & Hungry. The chef plans to move back to Kansas to open her own bakery; there are no immediate plans to replace her. [WCP]

MCPHERSON SQUARE— It'll get here eventually. The latest opening date estimate for Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab is mid-January 2014, according to a rep. [EaterWire]

It can seat up to 18 people and for $40 per head, those who use it get a spread of pastries, sticky buns and fruits, as well as several of the restaurant's breakfast entrees to share, like short rib hash and crab egg white omelets.
