BETHESDA— Bethesda's Jiffy Shoppes has closed, and Bethesda Magazine has an update on what's replacing it. The concept sounds interesting: Pizzapass owner John Foster likens his restaurant to a Brazillian steakhouse — except with pizza, of course. It'll open in mid-December. [BM]
CLEVELAND PARK— Pastry chef Alison Reed is leaving Ripple, according to Young & Hungry. The chef plans to move back to Kansas to open her own bakery; there are no immediate plans to replace her. [WCP]
MCPHERSON SQUARE— It'll get here eventually. The latest opening date estimate for Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab is mid-January 2014, according to a rep. [EaterWire]
ARBITRARY LISTICLES— Another day, another opportunity to weigh in on doughnuts. DCist has a list of its 11 favorites, including those from Cork Market and, well, Krispy Kreme. [DCist]
FOGGY BOTTOM— Entertaining a group for a business meeting? Or just have a bunch of friends who can't decide on one breakfast entree? Blue Duck Tavern's Chef's Table within the restaurant is available for morning meetings. It can seat up to 18 people and for $40 per head, those who use it get a spread of pastries, sticky buns and fruits, as well as several of the restaurant's breakfast entrees to share, like short rib hash and crab egg white omelets.
