Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events and promotions going on around the city:

When: Beginning Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
Where: El Chucho DC

What: El Chucho is launching a new, condensed brunch menu this weekend at the Columbia Heights Mexican spot. The menu will have four items: Chilaquiles, buttermilk masa pancakes, Green Eggs and Ham (poached eggs, ham, black beans and chimichurri sauce) and rum raisin tamales. All items are priced under $10, and there will be brunch cocktails as well, including green Bloody Marys, mimosas and more.

2) Pasta-Making Class at Urbana
When: Saturday from 2-4 p.m.
Where: Urbana
2121 P St NW
What: Chef Ethan McKee will teach attendees how to make pappardelle noodles, agnolotti and open ravioli at the restaurant. The class is $45, and attendees can RSVP to cherry.decena@urbanadc.com.

When: All Weekend
Where: Various Restaurants
What: The Restaurant Association has launched its first Cocktail Week, and there are specials at 50 different participating restaurants throughout the city. Those who want to get involved can also download a game board and go on various cocktail "trail" crawls throughout the city, with the chance to win prizes.

4) Salt & Sundry's Birthday Party
When: 11-7 p.m. Saturday
Where: Salt & Sundry
Union Market
1309 5th St NE
What: Amanda McClements' immensely popular home and cooking store, Salt & Sundry, turns one over the weekend. There are a whole bunch of activities planned for the day, including a pickle tasting, cake from Tiffany MacIsaac, a coffee tasting and champagne. More info here.

5) Controlled Rot: A Fermenting Class
When: Saturday 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Where: The Hill Center's Lorinda "Annie" Hooks Demo Kitchen
921 Pennsylvania Avenue, SE
What: Bill Schindler, who previously taught a foraging class at the location, comes back to teach participants about fermenting vegetables, cultured butter, and sourdough bread. The class is $75; more info here.

Also of note: Pizza C.S. turns two over the weekend and is offering customers discounts on beer, wine and pizza...Gina Chersevani's cocktail classes at Hank's begin...Piola's unlimited pizza brunch launches Sunday...it's rugby all day at Fado in D.C., starting at 9 a.m...Southern Hospitality hosts a Moonshine party (though looks like tickets are sold out).
