1) Gingerbread House Making at Cork
Where: Cork Market

When: Saturday at 11:30 am or 3:30 p.m.

2) Try the new churros at Mi Cocina
Where:Mi Cocina
5471 Wisconsin Ave. Chevy Chase, Md.
When: Beginning Saturday
What:Mi Cocina is adding churros to the menu over the weekend. Their version is dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with cajeta caramel and Mexican chocolate dipping sauce.
3) Treme Cookbook Signing
Where: Bayou Bakery
1515 N Courthouse Rd. Arlington, Va
When: Saturday, 5:30 to 7:30
What: Lolis Eric Elie will come to the New Orleans restaurant to sign copies of his new Treme-themed cookbook. The head writer for the HBO series is a friend of chef David Guas. There will be live music and a la carte food and drinks for sale (no admission).
4) Santa Crawl
Where: Various Dupont Circle bars, from Black Finn to Front Page to Irish Whiskey
When: Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.
What: Dress up like Santa and get drunk. There are a bunch of Dupont Circle bars participating in the event, which is $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Get specials on Yuengling, vodka, rum, shots and food. More info here.
5) Have brunch with Santa
Where: Kennedy Center's Roof Terrace Restaurant
When: This Saturday and Next
What: This annual tradition involves a buffet, and fills up quickly. It's $45 for adults, $20 for the young ones. More info here.
