The Walrus Oyster and Ale House is Coming

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Here's the scoop on what is being planned to replace the now-shuttered Ketchup at National Harbor. D.C. restaurant veteran Michael Sternberg has signed a letter of intent to open The Walrus Oyster and Ale House. The concept is based on the poem, "The Walrus and the Carpenter."

The Walrus will serve Eastern Shore-influenced seafood and feature a raw bar; Bob Kinkead is attached to the project. They'll have a kiosk serving lobster rolls as well.

The folks at National Harbor are keeping most details under wraps until the lease is finalized, but the restaurant will have a big outdoor patio, and would ideally open by next spring. Sternberg launched Star Restaurant Group last year (not to be confused with Stephen Starr's group of restaurants).
