Silo Brings 'Swiss-French Twist' to Mount Vernon Square

Forthcoming Mount Vernon Square eatery Silo will serve "lots of cheese" when it opens before the end of the year. The American restaurant with a "Swiss-French twist" will come to 919 5th St. NW from owner Reza Akhavan and chef George Vetsch, previously of C.F. Folks, will helm the kitchen.

Look for dishes like vanilla-braised frog legs with garlic risotto and pork stew in a paprika sour cream sauce with grilled rapine and pepper tagliatelle as well as a wine list focusing on small domestic and western European producers and craft beer, cider, and bottles of Belgian ales and sour ales. The space will be "industrial chic" and there may or may not be some (old) bullet holes in the walls. Young & Hungry has the menu and more.
