Palena's Candies; New Margarita-Friendly Happy Hours

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

ADAMS MORGAN/CLEVELAND PARK— Two new margarita-friendly happy hours have arrived. Sister restaurants Lauriol Plaza and Cactus Cantina have both launched happy hour deals on weekdays from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Cactus Cantina's deal is drinks only at the bar, while Lauriol Plaza also has a happy hour food menu consisting of things like tamales, quesadillas, and nachos. CLEVELAND PARK— Need a last minute holiday gift or hostess gift? Palena's Cafe has some sweet options. The new addition is making homemade versions of such treats as caramels and torrone. [Twitter]

ALEXANDRIA— Famous Luigi's is no more, but a new Italian restaurant has a connection to the Dupont Circle institution. Osteria Marzano, which has been dishing up dishes like Nutella pizza over the past few months, is from the Bruzzo family's second generation. [EaterWire]

CHINATOWN— Richard Sandoval's Chinatown restaurant Zengo is getting set to debut a new menu in its Test Kitchen series, this time exploring Latin-Asian fusion. From January 2 through March 31, this "Japan to Mexico" menu will offer dishes such as achiote shrimp tempura roll and teriyaki pork belly gorditas "sliders." [EaterWire]
