Greg McCarty IN as Chef for Ashok Bajaj's NoPa

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

The brasserie from uber-restaurateur Ashok Bajaj has named a chef, who will debut in the kitchen of NoPa Kitchen + Bar come April.

Greg McCarty has received the restaurant gig for the upcoming project at 800 F St. NW, where Zola used to be. McCarty is currently planning the menu for NoPa, which will be an American Brasserie with a bit of a French influence.

McCarty is from Newfoundland and is really passionate about pickling, so don't be surprised if there are some sour touches on the menu. He began his career working at Jean Georges in New York, and he went on to work with chef Jean Georges Vongerichten for six years. Other stops range from New York's Nobu 57 to a Connecticut food truck. NoPa will join Bajaj's other restaurants, which include such destinations as Bombay Club, 701 and Bibiana.
