National Gallery Gets Menu from Cathal Armstrong

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

The menu at the National Gallery of Art's Garden Cafe often changes with its various art exhibits, and it's at its best when a local chef gets in on designing that menu. The next chef to take on that challenge is Restaurant Eve's Cathal Armstrong, who just designed a British-inspired menu to go with the exhibit Pre-Raphaelites: Victorian Art and Design, 1848–1900.

The cafe will offer a buffet priced at $20.75 with lots of traditional British options. An English cheese board, barley salad, Cornish pastry, bubble and squeak, and cherry trifle are all among the options. A few items can be ordered a la carte as well.

The exhibit is scheduled to run through May 19.
