Bethesda got a new food and beverage option when Brickside Food + Drink opened in early February. The restaurant comes from the team behind the well-regarded Villa Mozart in Fairfax. Does the sister restaurant live up to the original? Here's what the first visitors to Brickside had to say on Facebook, Yelp and various blogs.

The They Can Handle A Crowd News: On Facebook, Cheri posted about her positive experience: "Loved this place last night! They took in my 8-10 ppl and all in all did a great job w great food! This place is here to stay." [Facebook]

The Opening Night Dispatch: Via Twitter, @MickNardelli reports, "Great specials. Great new spot. Come and check it out!" [Twitter]

The Fries Endorsement: Thrillist, which declares that 'anything with side' in the name usually rocks," singles out the polenta-breaded fries at Brickside. [Thrillist]

The Subpar Ribs News: Brickside is currently earning 2.5 stars on Yelp with six reviews in. One is from Jamie C., who liked the ambiance and service, but was less excited about the food. "I had the pork tenderloin, which is basically a Milanesa. It was a little salty but overall good but at $18.95 I expected more. My husband got the ribs and he was very disappointed." [Yelp]

The Take It To Go or Else News: Yelp writer John H. found himself in a strange scenario when he ordered at Brickside. "I received my food in to-go boxes. At no point, did I ask for the food to go and at no point did she ask me. To avoid the awkwardness of the situation, I simply left with my to-go box." [Yelp]

The Check Out Happy Hour News: Also on Yelp, user Abbey A. offers her thumbs up. "What a wonderful new place in Bethesda.  A coworker and I stopped by for happy hour this evening and I will definitely be back. Great happy hour specials, tasty apps." [Yelp]

The Chill Vibe News: Blog The Stylish Dept. swings by the restaurant and says, "Brickside Food & Drink has a chill and relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy yourself and have a good time. Their Pink Murder Punch (which is made with beer and Country Time pink lemonade) is a fave at this place along with their bucket of Rolling Rock ponies." [TSD]
