Sarku Japan Adding Northern Virginia Locations

New, 1 comment

Formerly a shopping mall staple, teriyaki chain Sarku Japan has been expanding throughout the area, and plans to add several new locations in Northern Virginia.

The franchise just opened its latest location in Alexandria, which is its first Virginia outpost. Sarku's stand-alone Teriyaki and Sushi Express concept is now in the Kings Crossing shopping plaza. Other local Sarku locations can be found in Wheaton, Bethesda and Silver Spring (the company started picking up speed locally back in 2011).

Sarku bills itself as a healthy option, serving teriyaki dishes stir-fried on a grill, as well as a number of sushi selections. They're planning to open two more NoVa locations by the end of the year. A spokeswoman said those leases are still being negotiated.
