Big Steaks, Prohibition-Era Cocktails at the New Brickside

Brickside Food & Drink, which had a soft opening last week, is bringing pizzas and Prohibition-era cocktails to 4866 Cordell Ave.

The restaurant is from the owners of Villa Mozart in Fairfax and Grand Central in Adams Morgan. Chef Andrea Pace, also from Mozart, is cooking such items as pizzas, burgers and shareable steaks. Cocktails lean classic, but there is also draft beer and a selection of wines by the glass and the bottle.

Demian Wilbur Architects designed the space. There's a glass enclosed room int he front that can be used for private dining. Other design features include a Prohibition mural and a semi-open kitchen. The bar is meant to evoke an old distillery in its appearance. The restaurant is throwing a grand opening party Feb. 8.
