peiwei.jpg1) Dupont Circle: A permit has been issued for work to begin on the Pei Wei restaurant coming to 1212 18th St. NW, in the same building as the 18th Street Lounge. The lease for the restaurant was signed back in 2011, WBJ reports. [PLYWOOD]

2) Capitol Riverfront: Park Tavern, the new restaurant from Xavier Cervera coming to 202 M St. SE, is now hiring staff. The restaurant will serve "local produce, sustainable seafood and properly raised meats." [PLYWOOD]

3) Columbia Heights: A restaurant called Mama Put will serve Asian and African food at 3124 Georgia Ave., NW, PoPville reports. The space used to be a tax services center. The restaurant will seat about 100 people, plus a summer garden. [PRE-PLYWOOD]

4) Dupont Circle: Also from PoPville, a tavern called Kabin is opening at 1337 Connecticut Ave. NW. A permit application calls for room for 210 people and dancing. [PLYWOOD]
