Clifton restaurant Trummer's on Main is going to be about all things wine this month, thanks to the arrival of new sommelier Diana Roderique.
Trummer's, which claims to have the largest wine cellar in the MId-Atlantic, has brought on Roderique to replace Tyler Packwood. She has 12 years of experience in the culinary industry, is a certified sommelier and a Specialist of Wine. Her resume includes La Cote Basque in New York City, the Ritz-Carlton hotel company and time as an instructor at The Art Institute.
This month, the restaurant will host a variety of wine-related events to introduce Roderique to its customers. They include wine Wednesdays, where a full page of wines by the bottle will be 50 percent off, and complimentary wine tastings on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., showcasing unique vineyards. A four-course Benziger wine dinner is also on the schedule for March 19, led by California winemaker Jeff McBride.
