Friendship Heights/Chevy Chase may have lost the locally founded Tynan Coffee back in February, but its replacement will still be a source for lattes and pastries. Le Pain Quotidien has signed a lease to take over the location, according to Kelly Silverman of Streetsense, their real estate broker. The plan is to shoot for a summer opening for the new cafe, she said.
Le Pain Quotiden has been working towards a pretty substantial presence in the D.C. market. The fast casual restaurant is known for its baked goods and its comfortable atmosphere, including big communal tables. More locations for D.C. are coming in 2013, Silverman said.
