1) Bethesda: Haandi, a Bethesda favorite for Indian cuisine, has reopened in a new location. Blogger Robert Dyer snapped some photos of the new space. Haandi has an extensive menu of appetizers such as mulligatawny soup, meat and vegetarian entrees, wok-made dishes and more. There is also a Falls Church location. Status: Reopened. 7905 Norfolk Ave., Bethesda; website.

2) Capitol Hill: Beuchert's Saloon had its soft opening last Tuesday and was packed throughout the weekend. The restaurant, from partners August Paro, Brendan McMahon and Nathan Berger and chef Andrew Markert, serves up American fare in a Prohibition-era atmosphere. Status: Soft opening through March 15. 623 Pennsylvania Ave. SE; website.
