Fast casual chain Roti Mediterranean Grill continues to take the region by storm with yet another location, this time opening in Bethesda. March 9 is opening day for the Roti at 10327 Westlake Drive, near Montgomery Mall. It's the 17th restaurant nationally for the Chicago-based company. Roti addicts can enter a contest online for the chance to win free lunch at the Bethesda store for a year (some runners-up will get free lunch for a month, and anyone who enters can get free falafel).
Roti is a representative of D.C.'s love of Chipotle-esque chains, from ShopHouse and Cava Grill to the upcoming Tom Yum District and Newton's Noodles. Bethesda won't be the last for the chain. Broker Ralph Tapiero, who works with the company, says that leases are signed at Rockville's Pike & Rose development, as well as Crown Farm in Gaithersburg, and they're still looking in D.C. and Virginia. Status: Opening Saturday. 10327 Westlake Drive; website.
