D.C. already snagged one new Food & Wine People's Best New Chef Award; can it grab two? Palena's Aggie Chin, 2941's Caitlin Dysart and Poste's Ryan Westover have been nominated for the magazine's People's Best New Pastry Chef award.
This is another popularity contest-style award, so fans of Westover, Chin or Dysart should head over to the website to vote for their favorite chef. Winners will be announced April 9. Westover is an alumnus of such restaurants as Rogue 24 and Jackson 20; Dysart did stints in Chicago and New Orleans before heading to 2941. Chin has Eventide and the former Mendocino Grille on her resume.
At Poste, Westover plans to offer a five course tasting menu for the next week for $20. It will feature five desserts, including a carrot cake with carrot sherbert, and a mimosa sorbet. Dysart will be offering a series of competition-themed specials at 2941 as well.
