Welcome to the Plywood Report, where we fill you in on what's coming up in food. See anything happening in your neighborhood? Send us a note at dc@eater.com.
1) Tenleytown: PoPville sends word that Neisha on Wisconsin Ave. will be replaced by a restaurant called EUR Asian. It will serve hotpot and tapas. Neisha is moving to a new location in Vienna. No opening date yet for the new place. [PLYWOOD]
2) Georgetown: Now we know what will replace the former Mie N Yu in Georgetown — and it isn't Dos Caminos. Patch reports Irish pub chain Ri Ra is taking over the space. The restaurant group already has locations in Arlington and Bethesda. The owners plan to entirely redo the space, using reclaimed materials from Ireland, and add a rooftop deck (though that could run into ANC opposition). [PRE-PLYWOOD]
3) U Street: Sweetgreen update: The outpost of the salad chain coming to 14th and W Sts. is aiming for a spring opening, PoPville said. [POST-PLYWOOD]
4) Bethesda: The opening of Yuzu, the new sushi place, is drawing closer. There's a craiglist ad up looking to hire servers. [POST-PLYWOOD]
5) Downtown: Not sure if anything will come of this, but a building at 740 15th St. NW is being renovated, and the owners are marketing the ground floor space to potential restaurant owners, WBJ reports. [PRE-PLYWOOD]
Update: Naked Pizza, originally noted here, has already opened in Ballston.
