Here's one more thing customers will be able to grab at Union Market — chocolate. Restaurant and chocolate retailer Co Co. Sala has confirmed its plans to open up a boutique at Union Market.
The shop will open in the spring, ideally in time for Mother's Day, according to an announcement from the restaurant. Co-owner Nisha Sidhu says she has fond memories visiting the market with her mother, which helped inspire the timing of the opening. The store will feature artisanal chocolates, and other items like the restaurant's bacon and hot co co. pops. The restaurant is known for its unique candy flavors, like banana ginger and chipotle, and recently collaborated with food writer Monica Bhide on a spiced line of chocolates for Valentine's Day. They will have their hot chocolate, an Eater favorite, for sale there, too.
The restaurant already operates one boutique adjacent to its original restaurant in Penn Quarter.
