Is Smashburger Coming to Falls Church?

Here's a tantalizing burger rumor for NoVa — Burger Days reports that Smashburger is coming to Lee Highway in Falls Church, next door to the awesomely named kebob house Meat in a Box. The story cites anonymous sources.

Eater reached out to Smashburger to check on the news, and a company spokesperson hedges. "This is merely a site that has been looked at, but no contract or deals [are in the] works."

The mini retail center in question is currently being remodeled; Meat in a Box is staying on, but some retail stores are leaving. If Smashburger ends up in Falls Church, it will be its second Northern Virginia location, after it made its DC area debut in Fairfax. A Dupont Circle Smashburger is under construction, and another location is bound for Bethesda.
