GBD, the New Morton's, Freddy's Frozen Custard Open

1) Dupont Circle: Lovers of fried chicken, doughnuts, beer and pretty much anything delicious, rejoice. It's opening day for GBD (Golden Brown Delicious), Neighborhood Restaurant Group's anticipated new concept. A refresher: there's buttermilk fried chicken, 19 draft beers, cake and brioche doughnuts, plus lots of fun snacks from Tiffany MacIssac, Kyle Bailey and Greg Engert. Status: Opening this morning. 1323 Connecticut Ave. NW; website.

2) Bethesda: Morton's The Steakhouse has reopened in Bethesda after a substantial renovation. The new Morton's has a redone bar area, and there are menu changes, too. Status: Reopened. 7400 Wisconsin Ave. Bethesda, Md.; website.

3) Fairfax: Freddy's Frozen Custard has opened a location in Fairfax. The restaurant also specializes in burgers. Looks like the soft opening was last month. A Don Rockwell reader found it eerily similar to Steak 'N' Shake. Status: Open. 10030 Fairfax Blvd.; website.
