1) Capitol Hill: Corner Bakery has opened its newest location at 500 N. Capitol St. NW near Union Station. The fast casual restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 2) U Street: The Wydown has opened up its pop-up cafe at 1320 U Street. Both the bare-bones pop-up and the upcoming permanent location at the Louis at 14 development are being designed by Edit Lab at Streetsense. Owner Alex McCracken tells Eater that the coffee shop will have a relatively simple menu featuring coffees from Intelligentsia, Kaldi's and P.T.'s Coffee. 3) Del Ray: Speaking of new coffeeshops, the coffee bar portion of the new M.E. Swing roasting facility has opened, according to Patch. They've got a long bar, reporuposed furniture and cold-brewed iced coffee on tap. Status: Certified open. 501 East Monroe Ave., Alexandria; website.
