Shutters Bar & Kitchen Opens in Tysons Marriott

Marriott sure likes to name its hotel restaurants after house fixtures. After The Bench opened in Gaithersburg earlier this month, the latest restaurant from the hotel company is Shutters Bar & Kitchen.

Shutters is located at the Tysons Corner Marriott, and the name evokes one of the main architectural components of the restaurant's design. There's also a backlit bar serving drinks that feature regional whiskeys, as well as Virginia wine, local beers and root beer. The restaurant is part of the hotel's Greatroom and has a communal tech table and free wi-fi. CORE designed the 146 seat restaurant. The bar is accented with amber recycled glass, and there are shuffleboard tables.

On the menu: American food with a Virginia flair. Chef Jeff Murray has put together such dishes as baby back ribs with whiskey barbecue sauce, Virginia hard cider rotisserie chicken and mac and cheese fritters with Virginia ham.
