Praise for Jeremy Hoffman; Sinkhole Cocktail at Ceiba

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

YOUNG GUNS— Eater National has been profiling the semifinalists for the site's annual Young Guns competition. Up today is Restaurant Eve's Jeremy Hoffman. Hear what his friends, colleagues and fans have to say about the chef. [-EN-]

MCPHERSON SQUARE— So yeah, that sinkhole at 14th and F Streets NW is causing a whole lot of traffic and drama downtown. And as a result, Ceiba has decided to pay it "tribute" with a Sinkhole de Mayo cocktail. Priced at $5, it's similar to an Irish Car Bomb, with grenadine serving as the shot. [EaterWire]

PENN QUARTER— Here's a way to work off those truffle frites. Poste Moderne Brasserie is bringing back Pilates on the Patio. Former employee Chauna Bryant will teach a series of 45-minute pilates classes on the restaurant's patio, beginning June 1. Classes are $24 per person. [EaterWire]

METRO CENTERAstro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken is now open on the weekends. Well, on Saturdays, anyway. Starting this Saturday, diners can visit the restaurant from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. [EaterWire]
