eater-airport-dining-guides.pngIt can be hard to find something good to eat at the airport, especially if you don't have a lot of time to search around. But, if you do some searching, you can find a few gems if you know where to go. In honor of the heavy travel that happens around Memorial Day, we're re-running our guide to eating and drinking at Dulles International Airport with updated info about all of the restaurants in each terminal, and recommendations for where to go if you have some time to kill, or if you just need a quick bite on the way to the gate.

Dulles' Five Standouts

five-guys-airport-150.jpg1) Five Guys: Sure, Five Guys has been expanding across the country at a rapid pace, but the burger restaurant got its start right here in Northern Virginia. Their customizable burgers and fries cooked in peanut oil have rabid followers in the DC area and beyond and for very good reason — they are delicious (Concourse A, Concourse B).

harrys-tap-room-150.jpg2) Harry's Tap Room: Dulles is home to the only remaining locations of Harry's Tap Room after its Clarendon outlet shuttered. They serve sandwiches, salads, soups, breakfast food and more (Main Terminal, Concourse B).

eveningstaketwo.jpg3) Starbucks Evenings: Dulles just added a new Starbucks Evenings concept which will feature beer, wine, fondue and flatbreads, plus coffee of course (Concourse B)

california-tortilla-150.jpg4) California Tortilla: Originally based out of Bethesda, Maryland, this chain is a local favorite for its burritos, tacos, fajitas, quesadillas and salads. Cal Tort, as many Washingtonians call it, likes to describe itself as "spunky" and it boasts a Wall of Flame lined with more than 75 kinds of hot sauces from the mild to the super spicy (Concourse C).

vino-volo-150.jpg5) Vino Volo Wine Room: Not bad at all for an airport wine bar, Vino Volo has a small menu of small bites, sandwiches, charcuterie and more (Concourse B, Concourse C).
