1) Foggy Bottom: Tonight is the soft opening for Froggy Bottom Pub, which has relocated to a new location on K Street. Official opening to the public is Monday. The new restaurant, which Eater toured last month, has been given a redesign by Streetsense and assistance from consulting firm Financial Foods. The look is more upscale, and the food is a little healthier, but the family-run ownership is the same. Status: Soft opening tonight. 2021 K St. NW; website.

2) Gaithersburg: Strangely-named hotel restaurant The Bench has opened its doors at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center. Apparently the monicker means "representing the best seat for life's events." Sure. There's a lakeside patio and a regional American menu from chef Aaron Tootill. Find beers from Maryland brewers, and a sleek design from designONE studio, out of Atlanta. There are also communal tables and several types of seating options. Status: Certified open. 9751 Washingtonian Boulevard, Gaithersburg; website.
