It won't be long until Mike Isabella's G sandwich restaurant opens — "early summer" is the latest projection — but diners will get an early sense of what's to come this month. The celebrity chef is turning the first floor of Graffiato into a pop-up version of G from May 13-17.
That means during lunch hours, the restaurant will serve some of the sandwiches, salads and veggies that will be found at the 2201 14th St. NW restaurant. Graffiato fans can still dine upstairs. The pop-up will give the chef the chance to test the recipes before debuting them officially (he's also planning a similar concept in New Jersey).
Menu items for the pop-up include such sandwiches as the chicken parmigiano ($10), roast suckling sub ($10) and Italian hero ($10), along with other items like roasted cauliflower ($6), olives and zeppoli.
