Eater National may have caught up with superstar chef Daniel Boulud at the Eater Lounge at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, but the talk was about D.C. The chef confirmed he will open a DBGB Kitchen & Bar in the city. From the article:

I know you've announced Vegas DBGB expansion, we've also been hearing rumors about DC, is that happening? It's unofficially official. It'll take some finalization, but it has been on the horizon.

Where is it going to be? Downtown DC. It should be fun. I started in America in DC, and I'm upset that it took me 30 years to go back. I'm looking forward to it very much. It's exciting, I love DC, I've always loved DC. I just wanted to come to New York, and I got physically, happily stuck in New York.

Previously, Boulud's team had said they were in talks for a space at CityCenter, the upcoming development in the former Convention Center location, but wouldn't say which concept was coming.

Boulud is also expanding DBGB, a "French brasserie meets American Tavern", as they describe it, to Las Vegas. It'll join other recent additions to the D.C. brasserie scene, including Nopa Kitchen + Bar and Le Diplomate, when it opens.

The chef is also at work on a cookbook from Bill Buford, and making his own whisky.
