Get ready. D.C.'s second Shake Shack will open its doors Tuesday. Reporter Ryan Kearney Tweeted that "a dude there" shared the opening date, and the dude was right. Shake Shack's publicist has confirmed to Eater that the restaurant is planning a June 25 opening.
The Shake Shack is opening in the former Spy City Cafe space adjacent to the Spy Museum in Penn Quarter. Shake Shack first made its mark on Washington in Dupont Circle, as well as Nationals Stadium, where several of restaurateur Danny Meyer's concepts are located. The New York-based cult burger chain serves up hamburgers, crinkle fries and, of course, milkshakes.
