Pizza Paradiso Exploring Expansion to Maryland

An anonymous chatter piped up in Tom Sietsema's chat yesterday to say, "Pizza Paradiso expands to Hyattsville! Scheduled to open early 2014." Eater decided to investigate and see what the story is.

Turns out the beloved pizza chain is considering a new location in Maryland. Owner Ruth Gresser told Eater the restaurant is, in fact, exploring a new location near Hyattsville but it's in the very early stages. They're looking at a space on Rhode Island Avenue in the future home of the Art Works Studio School in Mt. Rainier. The company is considering a number of options, whether it be a full-service restaurant and bar or an events and catering space.

It's been a busy time for Pizzeria Paradiso. Gresser recently got a pizza cookbook deal, and the Georgetown location opened its newly renovated Birreria Paradiso basement bar in March.
