Anthony's Closes After 41 Years; Mandu's Special Dinner

FALLS CHURCHAfter a whopping 41 years in business, Falls Church family restaurant Anthony's served its last meatballs on Sunday. The silver lining: the owners are looking for a new location. The problem: it's been hard to find something affordable. [FCNP]

MOUNT VERNON TRIANGLEMandu will celebrate executive chef Yesoon Lee's birthday on Sunday with a special dinner featuring such chefs as Scott Drewno of the Source, Haidar Karoum of Proof and Estadio, Will Morris of Vermillion and Yoji Harada of Pabu. The talent-packed group will come together for a $50 six-course dinner, served family style. Half of the proceeds will go to the D.C. Youth Orchestra. [EaterWire]

FOOD TRUCKS— D.C. Council is making some headway on food trucks, having passed some of the less controversial aspects of the pending regulations, such as creating new licenses. There is still work to be done about the mobile vending zones and lottery system, though, Washington City Paper reports. [WCP]
