Can you handle spicy chicken, Nashville-style? Those who crave heat should head to Capitol Lounge on Saturday. The restaurant is hosting chef Adam Cox of Maison Dixon for a pop-up event that could lead to a permanent restaurant.
The chef has such dishes as hot chicken, chicken 'n' waffles and grilled pimento cheese on the menu, as well as barbecue and grits. It's the second pop-up event the chef has hosted in D.C.; chef Teddy Folkman said about 150 people came to the last one, and some people were seen scarfing down two, even three super hot sandwiches. "Myself, I had about a quarter of one hot chicken sandwich and had to call it quits," he said via email.
The chef is considering opening a brick and mortar restaurant on either Capitol Hill or along the H Street corridor, he said.
