Sol's Upstairs, Retrospect Coffee, Nick's Pizza Open

1) Atlas District: The upstairs portion of Sol Mexican Grill is opening today. The downstairs opened awhile back, but permitting delays kept the whole operation from debuting at once. This means a new bar, outdoor patio and more from the food truck turned brick and mortar restaurant. The upstairs has full table service (downstairs is more fast casual). 2) K Street: Retrospect Coffee and Tea has its grand opening event at 1020 19th St. NW today (M.E. Swings brings word via Facebook). This is in the former Java Green space. The menu shows some basic coffee choices, plus Turkish coffee and Viennese espresso. There are soft drinks and snacks, too, plus some lighter fare like schnitzel with salad. 3) Darnestown: Don Rockwell's site brings some Maryland news. Nick's Pizza & Subs has opened its doors. There is delivery, lunch specials. etc. Status: Open. 14125 Seneca Road, Darnestown, Md.; website.
