Three Places to Find Non-Traditional Club Sandwiches

Photo: Facebook

Sure, most clubs are made with turkey or chicken. But some restaurants have other ideas. Here are three places where another protein takes a starring role.

The spot: The Jefferson
The sandwich: The Greenhouse at the luxurious D.C. hotel serves up a Lobster Club with curry mayo and bacon on toasted brioche at lunch. A Salmon club has also been spotted on Quill's bar menu in the past. ($24)

The spot: Cafe Soleil
The sandwich: Ham is featured on this restaurant's take on the club (which includes turkey as well), along with sliced onion, arugula, tomatoes and pepperjack cheese. Spicy mustard, balsamic and a ciabatta roll round out the dish. ($11)

The spot: Oceanaire
The sandwich: Oceanaire offers a crab cake club at lunch with bacon, lettuce tomato, mustard mayo and of course, a crabcake ($19.95)
