Todd Wiss has been promoted from within. The cook has moved up to the executive chef position at Firefly, replacing Danny Bortnick, who is now overseeing all of Kimpton's local restaurants.
Wiss has already been revamping the Dupont Circle restaurant's menu. His latest dishes include a seasonal risotto, cured rockfish carpaccio and fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and chow chow. He has previously worked at such restaurants as Poste, Ten Penh and Radius Pizza. He's a Glover Park native, and came to Firefly in 2012.
