James Patterson's Firefly Shoutout; Ryebar Tuesday

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

DUPONT CIRCLE— Novelist James Patterson must have had a meal or two at Firefly at some point. The Kimpton restaurant is given a nod in his new book, Mistress. The passage mentions dishes that have actually appeared on the restaurant's menu, including pot roast and beer-battled pickles (see the screen shot above). [EaterWire]

CHEF SHUFFLESEd Witt's stint at Hawk 'N' Dove didn't last long. Young & Hungry reports the chef, who was helping with the opening of Custom Fuel this week (he's friends with the owner), has left the Capitol Hill bar and is pondering his next move. [WCP]

GEORGETOWN— And there we were, just speaking of lobster. Luke's Lobster is planning to open a lobster market, selling whole lobsters, Maine-themed items and more, according to Washingtonian. [Washingtonian]

GEORGETOWN— Capella's Rye Bar may get teased for its expensive cocktails, but they won't be so expensive tonight. According to the restaurant's Twitter account, customers who visit between 6-8 p.m. and use the password "Manhattan" can get a free drink. [Twitter]
